As well there has to be new exhaust to go with the new driveline , so my good buddy wigs convinced me to 5" sidepipes on it . I was not so sure about it , but once we started and have it mocked up .... I must says he knows exactly what was needed So hopefully this weekend all the odds and ends will be finished up and I get it home to my own garage and start on the mass of electrical work as have ditched over 10lbs of wire out of it . and then onto the dash / doors rebuild . Maybe by may long she will be my once again daily driver

Yeah, it's a great winter we just had. I liked it for snowboarding

nice to see your project is still "on the road".

Yes It has been a long road haha . But have it on the road now finally but still much to do . I not sure I be able to get some rolling coal vids up but it rolls as much as I hoped for lol. I feel pretty bad for those behind me when I leave the lights .

So on with the build , and more pics

So now that the 6BT is almost installed , with the 4.56 gears in the back it will top out about 70 MPH so that is not good , Found some 3.21 Iron for it from wrecker in Dongs town for more than hoped but wasn't finding much as had to drop to smaller carrier as well. Spend one morning swapping them out and now he tops out at 100 MPH @ what ever the governor is at , need to get tach working to see.

So now that was completed and new drive shaft installed , amazing that the angles worked out and didn't have to shim pinion angle , Time to get on the side pipes which turned out way better than had thought , The WS is wigs special haha He had intentions of 5" side pipes on something for a long time and I was unsure for the first while but suits it just right I think now .

As well working on the finishing touches under the hood, I realized that the rad cap is lower than coolant lines to heater core , and the core is highest point in the cooling system , So had to ditch the vented resiviour and install a pressurized one that tied into lower rad hose . I also installed a bypass hose from thermostat back to the tank to aid in air locks and keep good flow past thermostat , Cummins recommends this on the industrial engines we use so I figured be good plan As well with GM rad installed I couldn't use the intercooler because that rad is so wide there is no clearance So fabbed up pipe from turbo to the intake horn , had to machine a spacer to get above the valve covers as well. As it goes now , 34lbs boost , egts haven't hit a 1000 degree yet but do run about 650 to 800 on highway so is a bit higher than like . once get a dirty load behind it will see what happens and likely will need to install some sort of intercooler down in front bumper to lower egts I am thinking , all though trans temp gets pretty warm as well even with 2 plate coolers and 9" fan on one of them.

Now the fun part , since this engine is all mechanical , the trans only has OD solenoid , there is not much electrical that is required. I had done under hood what was needed , 2 relay , one for starter and for ign to power alt charge and fuel shut off solenoid, and feed power to neutral safety switch / reverse lights and OD solenoid. I ditched all OEM wiring that wasn't needed other than Power windows and locks . I ditched the switches and installed relays , feed power to signals / wipers / stop/hazard circuit and signal circuit and horn with a simple 6 ATO fuse block. A ton of relays was used and HD solenoid to carry the load to feed all the circuits as this will be the IGN switch. The OEM key cylinder is only for locking the gear shifter .

Been a long month with a lot of things to do . Hard to find time to get the time consuming things done , But is getting there. Show time this weekend so will run what brung , Curious to see where it is at out of the gate , Last year was 157.7 and best was 158.9 . had a 159.7 in testing but never seen anywhere near that as time went on . Hopes the new dash build will help . Need a second amp for sure to help gain power that is needed.
