I have to come to Jordy's defence on this one... he may not of thrown a show personally but he was involved in many last year where he supported the shows. He gave out things and was invloved, so you can't really cut him up when you don't know all the info.

You don't have to throw a show on your own to suppert the industry, if we work together it will help the industry, as long as people are helping out and contributing thats what matters.

 

I dont know his involvment just his comments and e-store.

 

Well now you know LOL... he is involved with the shows and supports all the competitors out this way. Just because he is a online business doesn't mean he doesn't care for the industry. Thats just a whole other can of worms, so lets keep it to the topic and now you are aware that jordy does support

 

theboy, Jordy was involved in helping us hold the free show last season, which i think was actually the most attended show in the GTA the whole season. thanks for commin out tho.

 

What im tring to say is everyone wants shows,but whats in it for a say a Visions store?They dont sell re ,dd,id,any of the big class d amps.What kind of advertising do they get?None,people show up the store loses money on the fact that not enough cars show up,yet everyone wants more shows and doesnt realize the overhead involved.A big show is around $3000.00 + sponsors and advertising!You do need all catagories sq,spl,bassrace etc.Like you said earlyer Yuli people drive and spend $30.00 on gas but wont spend $20.00 to enter.

I tried to help a couple of other shows last year but I didn't even find out about them until they organizers already had everything in place.

I'm already in talks to help get 2-3 shows organized in Ottawa for this season which is HUGE considering we had 0 shows last year.

Hell, I think I'm the only one within an hrs drive that has a meter.

 

yah visions dont sell RE or DD but how many regular guys have or even know of those brands? i've been to a number of shows this past season where it was 30+ competitors. i was the only one with DD subs. 3/4 of the poeple at the show have never seen or heard about DD and another 1/4 think jl audio and fosgate is better and thats what they run. How many people in the whole of canada actually use RE or DD as a daily set up??? like 3?? me being one of them?

my point is that u can sell regular, well known stuff, and u wont run out of customers. and yes, u are correct, u'd have to cover as many basis as possible or offer something new or different where guys with 500 watt system can be competative and have fun.

what i did last year is use a new format which i came up with on my own. we would allow people to place the mic anywhere between the windshield and front seats and above the window line. have your windows open if you like and play whatever music u want. all the smaller guys loved it b/c it actuallly showed the real spl (many of them placed the mic on the passanger side head rest) u would hear while listening to music normally. hardcore spl guys would not really participate in this for 2 reasons; we are very custom to legal format (mic on windshiled, windows up) and most us would think that such newbie format is just too ghay to take part in, and the second reason is that we make boxes to be loud exactly at the windshiled where the mic normally goes. I tried the head rest thing and i lost like 10 db's using my spl box.
