Lightbulb

Don't bother with an EQL, EQX, or EQQ. They are hardly a step better than a half din underdash slider EQ. They simply are not flexible enough.

Get yourself a 30band graphic or a 5band+ parametric EQ. Excellent units can be had from Alpine, PPI, AudioControl, Rockford and others.

Are Kicker / Ma audio EQ any good? Both have 30 bands eq for resonable prices.

I wouldn't touch MA personally. Kicker is ok... I've always liked the PPI DEQ230 for an analog piece.

You could still try swapping the phase on the drivers... sometimes it sounds better with one out of phase.

I've done the out of phase and it sounds really weird on these k2ps plus it's less midbass too. where can I get really good price on a good EQ locally? The shop I went to quote me $450+tax on a EQL, what the hell..

If you want cheap I'd say used. Processors are kinda specialty pieces so it's hard to get a deal.

IMO why spend that kind of money when a H701 is around 450 and does way more.

With H701 I need an dedicated controller right? Can I control it from the 9813?

I'm in agreement with Dukk. Personaly I run a 9 band parametric Memphis and wow the control it granted me. Well worth the cost in cash, instalation and tuning it. Another thing with an slider EQ is you'd be messing with it more often.
