SO your sister has a pit bull, the cops bust in, and you expect them to subdue it "another way" how are they supposed to subdue a dog that has been criminalized? I bet you are an expert in subduing an animal that is being aggressive. If I'm a cop, and a dog is coming at me agressively, especially a pit bull, it will get shot, no questions, no regrets.

you seem to think that your sister should have gotten special consideration, and she did, the cops considered her a suspect special enough to bust in with a swat team.

The police have a perogative and responsability to protect the public, not a perogative to coddle and cater to every idiot who thinks that they are special.

oh, and get a clue on electrical theory, current causes heat, voltage doesn't. Voltage causes arcing. but hey, I'm sure you're an expert on that too... you'd definitely know better than me, I'm only an electrician.

^ LMAO - Ever see the equation power = voltage x current ???

(but what do I know, I only take physics at the university level... )

And yea.. and they do have pepper spray they could have hit the barking dog with afterall.. not that they were about to use it, more fun to shoot something... (people and animals)

-pits are not illigal to own BTW, and hers was spayed w/licence as she is supposed to be -

And MR2.. you are being a complete jackass... for your information the average canadian does favor decrimilization for many good reasons... which is exactly why legislation was being brought before parliament....

Sass.... One of the first things I said to my sis (which I mentoned here) was addressing the people she associates herself with... did you miss that??? Maybe you should re-read the thread...

BUT- just because she misjudged someones character dosen't mean she deserves this BS... And the fact that she tried to get a restraining order put against this same guy months ago, and was denied... is disturbing...

Do I think she should have recieved special consideration... no... but I do think the po should have maybe rubbed a couple brain cells together and did some investigating before going off half ****ed on bad information and trumped up charges... I guess resonable thinking/behaviour is too much to ask from a group of people with a so called perogative....

Let me repeat the bottom line... the pigs screwed up and innocent people not only had thier civil rights violated, but some were badly injured....

If you cannot see what is wrong with that.... then there is something very wrong with your perspective....

Haunz: power doesn't cause heat, the current portion of power causes heat in a conductor. I work with high voltage on a very regular basis, and voltage causes a difference in potential, which leads to arcing, current flowing through a conductor is what causes heat, that is why conductors have to get bigger as the current increases, they don't get larger as the voltage increases, in fact, you can use a very small wire to transmit large amounts of POWER if the voltage is high enough, because the current is lower and won't cause heat... Hence the HIGH VOLTAGE lines you see around, they can transmit a lot of power with very little current, less current means less heat in the conductors, less heat in the conductors means less resistance, which gives you less overall loss.

take my word for it, and the word of everyone who is actually involved in the electrical trade, and it's theories for the last oh, I don't know, 100 years.

frequrency plays a role too, but we won't get into that here

oh, and when you get your university physics degree, yes I'd like fries with that.

your sister got a raw deal, life sucks. some people get cancer because someone in their house smoked, life sucks. if you came looking for sympathy, you're obviously not getting any from most of us.

The wifes brother had intents of going to school to be a cop at one point until 1 night couple of his buddies where leaving a party and cops pulled up to them on the street his other buddies took off running and her brother stood there and waited like they asked of course he had a few to drink but the cop was a total dick ended up cuffin him, dropped him on his face broke his noise etc etc, his buddies came back asked the cops what the hell there doing the female cop replied back with something pretty stupid, but even his buddies said when this male cop did this **** the female cop even had a concerned look on her face, there where 2 unbiosed witness's that saw it happen but said they wouldn't testify in court cause they didn't want any issue later in life... Needless to say he got banged up for no reason at all and pretty much alter his career in life from wanting to be a cop..

Hey man, **** happens... I realize that... not looking for any sympathy, and I don't think my sis is either..... (although she did have to borrow the 3Gs from one of her friends to get her dog fixed)

It just makes me upset/angery that stuff like this can go down and (so far anyway) no one is held accountable.....

Can't use pepper spray in a room without everyone being affected by it. That includes the police who's job it is to control the room.

Of course you'll likely say "Well they should have used a taser then" but of course you have never used a taser either and certainly have never tried to hit a barking unrestrained dog with one. You also don't know that you're entering an unsecured area and while a taser is effective in certain situations it does take more time to use compared to a bullet. Time that could be very well used protecting yourself if needed.

IIRC, most dogs are generally unaffected by pepper spray.

Hahaha, hahahahaha, hahahaha, the average Canadian wants to decriminalize pot, hahahaha. You might just want to look outside of the demographic that was targeted for the data. Hahaha. Then further to that when the motion is soundly defeated, I guess Canadians spoke and had the final say. So until we know, if I wanted your advice on the subject, I would give it to you. Stay in school young Haunz, you have much to learn.

I would also think that given two identical lengths of wire, one of a 20 gauge and one of a 4 gauge and both given 12 volts and a 60 amp draw on each line that the 20 gauge line would get nice and hot.
