I did some research in my immense photo database on my PC (I knew they'd come in handy one day), and I do have a pic of a HC15 with the black cover dealy and everything

I was always curious why that black cover was there

I just noticed that the SE series subs have the black cover dealies too...could RE SE = Onyx LSM as well???

I haven't got the pics to show yet (I'm at school and on my laptop now) but I'll have to do some sleuthing on my PC when I get home.

I see that Dave @ RE registered last night, I am probably speaking for a lot of people when I say I'd like to see what he has to say about this.

I also see that Scott from Onyx also just registered, can either one of you guys shed some light on the subject to satisfy our curious minds please?

I wouldn't be surprised if they share parts. There are surprisingly few manufacturers of speakers in the world. And very few sub manufacturers "make" their whole sub, magnet to dustcap, so these guys have to buy some parts from manufacturers, so If you look at subs you will find that alot of them have identical looking parts here and there.
Doesn't matter though, the secret is in the total package, R&D, and assembly.
