Still another answer with a bunch of useless bable. What parts of the motor was deem defective. AND why is it no good for onyx but good enough for RE? I was planning on getting some HC's but now, On to B.A.

Hello everyone. My name is Scott Massengill and I am the President / CEO of Onyx Mobile Audio. At about 8:00 this morning, while checking my e-mail, I found a link to this thread and, needless to say, was not happy. As mentioned above, these "Onyx" parts were deemed to be defectives and were rejected by our company (actually, by me; I do 100% of the QC testing at Onyx, even if it means long hours and no sleep). I prefer not to get into the specific details as to why I rejected these parts, lets just say that the Quality Control at Onyx is among the best in this industry, and I feel that when a customer buys one of our speakers, they deserve only the best. As part of Onyx' agreement with DeStijl Engineering regarding the purchase of these defective parts, our name and / or logo was to be immediately removed upon their purchase. It is disturbing to say the least that, nearly a year later, an RE driver pops up with our logo on it. I hope you will all look at this unsettling situation as reinforcement that Onyx Mobile Audio spares nothing to provide our customers with the best products money can buy! Thank you.

Any such defects will not any way shape or form hurt the performance of either the SE or HC series drivers.
We are open and honest with our customers. We are not trying to spin or hide anything regarding the above pictures.

The thing is defective parts were admittedly used to build and market A-1 goods.
A description of the defects would be a good idea. Your answer so far hasn't satisfied me.
Gene.

I'm sorry if my answer doesn't satisfy your needs, but it's the only one I am willing to give. I will not intentionally harm any company; even one that has blatantly disregarded my policies. There were several issues with these parts, and rather than take our chances we decided to re-tool new parts. I am very determined to maintain our less than 1% defect ratio, and if that means it takes 6 months longer to go to market (or even longer), we would rather do that than ship product that isn't 100%. Thank you.
