I'd say battery before alternator.

Id have to agree, Battery , then alternator, Wiring first, Big 3 makes a NIGht and day difference in Almost Any vehicle. As mentioned previous the 0ga runs it will make a difference!! The box design is always the MOST important,

And another amp. If that thing is 2500wrms, then you will need a second. Those subs can handle like 2500-3000w.

why do all that? why get higher spl? from your post i can see that u really do not know much about spl or car audio, i can also see that your shop doesnt know much about spl either and on top of that they are tryin to rip u off.

u do not need a new or bigger alternator, nor do u need a second battery. they are charging you $250 for a box??? do u know that a box costs about $50 to make in material and MAYBE another $50 in labour. aftermarket alternator are what? $250 to $300? they want $550?

i have one battery and stock alternator, with about 2500 rms watts i can do 150 on a pair of 10's. it's all in your box, but im guessin you do not know much about boxes and tuning and will probably keep goin back to that same shop until you realize what a ride they are takin u on.

all in all, if you want higher spl scores buy a meter and gain some basic knowledge, otherwise u are throwing money away.

i dont know who jeff is or what game he's been in but you are gettin ripped off big time. i cant say if jeff knows what he's talking about but i can tell you for sure that he's tryin to make a quick and easy buck on you. you are about to spend money on something you do not need. like really, how much do you expect to gain from a second battery? does jeff know? is your amp runnin below its rated impedance? any idea there? if it's not then 2 batteries would be useless.

its your money, i really dont care, u can keep it or you can give it to jeff. im just tellin you this before you get ripped off cuz afterwards you'd feel sorry for yourself.

i see alot of guys come to comps with $250 boxes, $500 subs, $1200 amps, $300 alternators and $300 battery set ups and get smoked by someone with a $50 box, $250 subs, a $400 amp and a stock battery who owns a $650 spl meter. dont be one of those guys.

do not take offence to what i say, im just telling you like it is. i wish someone told me this when i first started, would have saved me lots of time and money.

Agreed with Yuli about the experience and meter parts.
I got $80 a piece subs, in a sealed box, with 2000 watts RMS and I pulled off a 146.3.
Stock battery and stock alt.

I dont even have $500 in the setup yet.

If you want to go loud in DB Drag, you have to have a meter, or at least access to one, and put in a good bit of effort. Yuli's just telling you like it is.
