If your goal is to be loud on the meter then Prolifik is on the money. You need to get experience and spend TIME, not so much money, on tuning the setup. In my brother's truck we gained 1.4 dB by moving the box around and flipping it up on it's side. Stuff like that is really key

If your goal is to be loud on full spectrum bass daily... then the things you are talking about are going to help alot. Go ported for sure. Also, more battery and alternator capacity will allow you to have it loud for longer periods of time without straining your equipment as much.

Being loud DAILY and loud in competition aren't always compatible. Using my brother's truck as an example again... we wired his amps down to 1/4 ohm and tuned the box high to get high numbers on the meter. It doesn't sound good daily nor are the amps stable that low daily. If he wanted to be loud daily, full spectrum, I would suggest a much lower tune and running the amps at a more reasonable load and quite possibly doubling the cone area (twice as many woofers).

Don't get a new alt and battery. Go to Home Depot and get a sheet of 3/4" MDF, some wood glue and screws. Download WinISD and take a night to learn how to use it. Design yourself a box and get a friend to make a day out of helping you build it. A new alternator and battery won't mean for you, the thing holding you back SPL wise is a ported box. Regardless, 140.7db is pretty loud for you're average daily listener, so I don't know what the problem is.

And before you go sticking up for you're pal Jeff and attacking Prolifik you should probably know who you're talking to, this guy knows what he's doing.

Like almost anyone else has said - figure out what you want first... SPL or a LOUD daily system.. then we'll talk

Term-Lab meters go for about 500 on the forums quite often.

I'm not sure about the availability on the Canadian forums since this is the only one I check, but I picked up mine on caraudio.com and see them there quite often around 500 bucks. One was listed a few days ago... maybe you should go search around and see if it is still up.
