not that difficult if you know what your vehicle responds best to

150 is much harder to hit than most people think -- usually the people who say how easy it is either don't compete in SPL and/or have never hit that #.

Don't beleive me? Prove me wrong and do it

No, 150 is hard to hit regardless.

You still need the gear, enclosure, wire, and time.

Now, Yuli is a exception here. Yuli has experience that he has learned over the years. Yuli can indeed build a box right out of the gate and have it perform as needed. This however has come at the expense of time and money over the course of how many years.

Yuli, you need to be fair to us shop owners at the same time. We are in business to do this kind of job and charge commensurate for the application. While you are not in business as we are, you charge perhaps what you feel is appropriate as this is a hobby for you, a hobby that you have become very good at. I am sure that if you were in business, you would not be charging $100 for your custom sub box as it would result in a net loss to the business. Once all the expenses are added in, materials, cost of purchasing equipment, wear on that equipment, power and lighting, insurance for that day you cut your arm off on the table saw or the router bit explodes in your face, the price of the box will go up. How long can one afford to sell things below cost before bad things happen?

So while you indeed may have vital information that is pertinent to applications, to announce that a shop that is in business to do this kind of work is ripping you off, this is just not fair. Yuli, you are a asset to the industry, I am sure that if you were employed in this industry knowing what you know now, you might have a slightly different view.

Joe, my sealed boxes start at $100 and ported around $200 for basic only, they go way up from there depending on options like upholstery, angles, slot porting, bracing, custom fit, fibreglass etc.
