Now at this point was sept, truck needed some attention again, pulling hard to the right and needed a saftey to get ab tags so I could run it as a company vehicle...

So new front brakes , brake hoses, windsheild, horn repair and abs module..

Then mid october was planning a build weekend , more steel and wood, but on road home friday night she started knocking ... boo.. so sat am went to shop and pulled the TBI 350 out and stuffed in a 5.7L Vortec stub,. ( brand new GM engines we use in the patch) but there was a lot of mods to make this engine work with the TBI, intake was different, had to make a adaptor plate from 1/2" alum plate, the linkages dont line up, and few other time consuming things, at same time I been wondering when to put on my dual 22 SI alts.. they been in my office since spring.. so I went to town on that.

By 2 am she was running. but then the hood didnt close. so had to bitch the bracket a bit to make work. Belt is 120.3 " long... was home by 3 am.. but she dont run very good at all.. so searched the forums and found out I need a vortec fuel pump, 18 psi reg spring and a custom burned chip... well after much reading I shimmed the reg spring with a 3/8 flat washer to get more fuel to it, ran better. On monday I had to get engine info, Camshaft info, compresion ration, etc. Ordered the chip Brian at TBIchips and 3 weeks later it came..But in mean time the stock tensioner would not handle the extra load and then belt would slip. so made a custom tensioner. I dont have alt test pics on this computer but the CS 144 does 207A the top 22Si does 285, and the bottom does 325A, So must find why the top one is lacking.

So now the chip , spring and pump was here, dropped tank and put in new pump again, changed the spring and the chip. WOW was a 70 HP gain for sure.. This things pulls like no tommorow now, But It sure does like the gas!! 9 MPG.. booo,, and at same time now that is -30 here she is not running properly,. So more reading. found how to commuincate with truck, found some npn transitors some 10K resitors and a diode. fabbed up a cable last friday and then went to collect data.. Was fun to say the least.. Then sat I got to play with some testing. this is the results.

I missed a step., The weekend before last got to gut the truck and weld in some more steel. I weighed it the one day before and she is 1300 kgs on front and 2480 kgs on rear. When I get it sheeted and finished in the b/c pillar I will weigh again. It was getting cold and I needed heat, so I also ditched the dash , and replaced blower motor and heater core. so the only pics I missing is when I get the steel sheeted. I have pics of steel on I phone but not here...

Yes the port is at the very back, 42" wide and 6.5 wide I think, cant remeber.

Yes it is coming , Next to do is 2 peice drive shaft, this is the story of your life, 2" too short bahahaha.... It has some pretty good vibes in it at 120K+

The Dash needs done but with christmas coming it not looking good.
But it is a real bitch to drive with it running the way it is.. trying to stall, flooding , farting at idle. stop and go traffic is the worst...

there is another chip on route so hopefully before christmas it arrives.

I have seen a truck like this before! I was told the storey there were TWO exactly alike made for someone special order through GM at the time. I was also told they were $100K each build!! It was about 7-8 years newer than the one you have here.
It was insane!! Nice Build here!!
