i remember when elemental had a bunch of their K series replaced, and a lot of customers said their motors were either corroded or really scratched....do close classify as used or second hand? </font>[/QUOTE]Due to the email and PM's I've got already this evening I want to make something VERY VERY clear becuase I do NOT want to even be questioned about the actions taken by a company I want NOTHING to do with. When our name is mentioned I recieve emails and I wanted to nip this in the butt right off the bat.

This is a cut and paste from what I posted on CarAudioForum.com, I only directly cut and paste for simplicity of delivering the same steadfast message.

I'd like to note we no longer have ANY affiliation with RE / Destijl Engineering on a personal level OR on a business level and haven't for some time. Any of their actions are theirs alone and took place completely outside anything with eD or myself as a whole.

I don't want to be answering for any of this junk.

First I would like to publicly apologize to Onyx Mobile Audio and Scott Massengill. By no means would I want to create any sort of circumstances that might have a negative effect on either Onyx or Scott and his fine company.
Upon purchasing these motor structure parts from Onyx, we settled upon an agreement that all logos would be removed from them. Apparently I did not do a good enough job of ensuring that this was the case before the back plate covers were applied. I will gladly take full responsibility for this oversight. It is a glaring error on my part that I did not personally oversee the removal of each logo or identifying mark on the purchased parts.

My sincerest apologies to both Scott Massengill and all at Onyx Mobile Audio.

Thanks,
Scott

so...thats all well and good, but what about an appology to your customers? They had faith in your product, its reliablity, and its performance, that may now be lost. I realize that you have 'explained' yourself, but obviously you aren't going to come on a public forum, and degrade your product. Keep in mind that i am not an re customer, nor will i ever be. (not because of the product, or anything haveing to do with the company.)

"tolerance problems"?
What exactly are "tolerance problems"?
And since everyone can pretty much agree that all subs are mostly made up of the same componants and that it is the brands that do their own tweeking to make it their own, then why would it be a tolerance problem for Onyx and not RE?
If it walks like a duck, LOOKS like a duck and SOUNDS like a duck...chances are it is a Duck!

As long as I'm sitting here Scott.

I'll flat out tell you that you owe a apology to a lot more people than that. Myself included.

I took your word despite a lot of things and never got much besides a oooooops. I don't think it's necessary to drag your name in the mud to get a apology for myself and my customers that should have been had LONG LONG LONG ago while I sat smiling taking the blame. You need to be a LITTLE more comprehensive than that.
