Interesting..
i agree maltesechicken is right
as for onyx having to pay to have their logo milled off the motor why should they? they had an agreement with RE that it would be REs responsibility to remove it if they wanted the parts,
onyx has every right to make sure RE lives up to their agreed non disclosure agreement,
Fever, have u had any problems with your gear thats a result of said defective motor assemblies???
how many times do i have to say it, if the part hasnt caused a problem who cares? if the defective part caused a risk of fire, or fell apart, yea i would be pissed, but if it works 100% fine in the application who honestly cares?
if u are that pissed off about it and feel ripped off so much, ill buy your sub off u for 20$ cus u are makin it sound like u have a 20$ piece of gear u paid 1200 for, so fair market value, ill take it off your hands, 20$ and ill even pay shipping, u can go buy some xplode subs with non defective parts right??

see now if i were nosing around under my hood and found the ford logo stamped on a part that i had never had a problem with in the past what would be the point of getting all mad? sure i paid for a KIA not a ford, but if the part does its job like it should big deal, yes RE screwed up by not milling the onyx logo off the motor, but that doesnt reduce the quality of their product, and u cant honestly say that other companies out there dont do everything humanly possible to cut production costs as low as possible and make as much profit as possible, thats business,

if it were cracked pistons that kia knowingly used and refused to replace when they caused a problem id be mad, but theres been no complaints as to the performance of the RE models in question,

how do you know it won't become a problem
most companys do up a nondisclsure for a reason
theres a problem they don't want people to know about
thats how major corporations deal with problems
they pay the plaitiffs to keep there mouth shut
keep alot of lawsuits off there *** and public embarassment
you guys are going WAYYYYYY off with the car analogies...This isnt a matter of a different company making motors for RE, or wether or not that company is a quality motor manufacturer....the point is that the MOTORS WERE ALREADY DEEMED DEFECTIVE!!!
(Reply to Chris B incase somebody jumps in between)
^^ Not me.
I've posted just to give my 2 cents. I think a lot of people are blowing this out of proportion and the two posts I did were simply for the sake of giving perspective (hopefully).
By the way Chris, nice work on getting the longest running post It even beats the lame "lets make a story"

And BTW my two cents, this issue is starting to get stupid and annoying. Everybody is saying the same things over and over, and you're all getting nowhere.

If RE bought them and they again failed to measure to spec for RE, do you think RE would have used them?
Thats why I think this is a non issue. If the motors had tested bad by RE's spec, RE wouldnt have used them either. Thus, "defective" is taken WAY out of context here.
