My Build Log - Chevy Dually
Cut up the birch sheet and put on the top of the rear sides that has been needed finished since last fall. Had to put on in 6" wide strips because of the wicked curve and the twist to it. Turned out very nice, just a little sanding to make smooth
Then started on the roof build , went pretty easy. Not quite done yet, but will finish after get something figured for the doors and how to keep them closed.. hmm still brainstorming that one. I dont want to use traditional latches or bolts. who has any ideas??? need to clamp from inside and look nice. How about that PL Premuim just hanging in there ? Stuff is amazing and well worth the cost over the cheaper crap that smells so bad and runs like glue, sticks to everything and a real pita to clean up..
Hey that sounds like an idea. No I have not seen. I was thinking of an overcenter cam or something but how to make it fit proper and not have this big ugly pipe going around teh frame of door. I was looking into electromagnets but are large and expensive, and not even sure if they would work. ( the kind that is used to lock doors in public places)
I will research that. thanks dukk.

I dunno when it is going to be loud. Life is too busy and my schedule is way off now, I had planned to have steel done by end of feb but is still not done. Then planned to have the wood all installed by end of march and still have long ways to go, this would give april for finishing.... so as it stands now I be lucky if I can get it done by june.
well got a few hours in on the weekend, pulled some wire, cut up some more birch. Removed all switches from doors and relocated to center console, As well wired in for new cluster of gauges, replaced door latches... Still long ways to go.
Also got New Alt installed in place of the CS144. It is the AD244 that every one sells for high amp alts. It is 250A but have to clamp it yet to see how much it actually does, If puts out more then will look into a Quad set up for a total of over 1600 A of alts
Good price on it too
It is not the denso Hair pin winding that DC Power's XP series have but is same as the SP series.
