So for those who know what they are looking at you can see the bell housing has a nasty crack in it. It starts on the driver side at bottom and carries upto the top and down the otherside. I was crawling around trying to find why this vib was in there.. and that is reason.... Not happy at all. Not sure what caused it, have heard a few explainations but from what I remeber happening was 2 weeks ago going down the hwy at a buck 40 or so and hit a frost heave and when the bounce happened there was a terrible noise and some nasty vibration going on. Had to slow down to make it go away, had replaced a Ujoint and made better but had the weird shimmy between 60 and 80 K... so now know why. limped her home so i could work on it thursday .

Thursday had some time to work on it , so I closed up the front of the baffles and started filling the holes and prepping for sanding/paint.
The napa filler is cheap, like 20 bucks a gallon. others sell for much more $$

SO friday came and went to my sisters place and her boyfriend has a few old chevy's out there and one was a 93 2wd so we fired up the hoe and drug it out of the bush and snow bank, lifted it up on to barrels and I took out the donor trans for the case. Nasty job. reminds me for sure why I dont miss that work one bit. Normally is a easy job but when it is covered in dirtand mud and everything you touch you get dirt in the eyes, ears and down your shirt it not fun at all. But jsut over an hour pulled it out and went home. Had family coming for the weekend and heading to the fort for the rest of it, Will pull trans after work tonight and get the guts swapped tomorow and bang it back in tomorow after work. Maybe do some sanding as well.

Thanks Guys, Ya somedays I am ready to put on back burner as is getting to be no end sight yet...... overwhelming to say the least @ times. But little by little it will come.

Some times I just want to put some gear in to bang it but cant justify not finishing or cutting corners at this point. I say well over 100 hrs yet. I wish had help but then I couldnt take all the credit one day it will come but I never expected it be this much time! I had it all planned out and to be done for end of this month. Just goes to show that there is never enough time in day and how fast time goes by........ I am sure when I catch upto Green Hornet days will feel like hours ..... lol...

Well it been a busy last 7 days. Got lots of hours into it even if it dont look so.
pulled trans on monday eve and then stripped and gutted them and then assembled and installed wed night, works like a charm and yet there is still a vibe to it @ high speeds... not much work on enclosure but did a few minutes of sanding.

So measured up driveline angles again and got some 2x3 steel and took to mill and put a 4 degree angle on it and decided to give the rear a boost for the weight as well. Had noticed a broked center bolt or right spring so might as well change it as well. And as was changing the bolt I hear this snap noise .... looking around and couldnt find till was putting left side back together and ya.. found the main leaf broken across the center bolt hole so finished it up and went home . Now will look for a good deal on new springs and will have that to do next week . Damn this is never going to get done at this rate.
